Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum in a single day, by overnight coach. A long day, and the most affordable way to stand at the pyramids.

There is no cheap way to reach Cairo from the Red Sea, but there is an honest one: a first-class coach that leaves in the small hours and has you at Giza soon after the site opens.

The day covers the Giza plateau, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple, then the Grand Egyptian Museum with its Tutankhamun galleries - the largest archaeological museum in the world, fully open since November 2025.

Lunch and an Egyptologist guide are included throughout. Expect to be back at your hotel late.

This is a very long day, with up to 8 hours on the road in each direction including checkpoints and stops. It is not recommended for very young children.

Grand Egyptian Museum entry runs on timed slots. Your guide manages the booking, but the itinerary cannot be delayed without risking the slot.

Pick-up between 00:30 and 01:30 depending on your hotel.

A transfer surcharge applies for hotels in Soma Bay, El Gouna and Kalawy; we confirm it when you book.

What to bring

    Passport or national ID is mandatory - there are security checkpoints on the Hurghada to Cairo road.

    Bring comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and some Egyptian pounds in cash.
